Our Story
That Crazy Dog Lady was a vision come to life by our founder and president, Vanessa Cogswell. She is known in her community as That Crazy Dog Lady due to her tireless efforts to help dumped and abandoned puppies in rural East Texas. Living in an area with no animal control and shelters are over-run, Vanessa began pouring her time and resources into helping these sweet babies find loving homes. Over the years, she has put together a network of foster homes, transports and community support. Now a non-profit organization, this effort is fully funded by donations and volunteer efforts.
Our Mission
That Crazy Dog Lady, Inc. is a community program dedicated to providing resources and compassionate care for stray animals. We focus on areas with limited or no access to animal control and shelters, ensuring that vulnerable puppies receive veterinary care, foster placement, and safe transport to trusted rescue partners. Our mission is to reduce the population of stray dogs by securing homes for puppies and supporting spay programs for their mothers, creating healthier communities for both animals and people.
Transports
We partner with various rescues throughout the country and transport puppies to those rescues who have the programs and communities to properly care for them. Prior to transport day, we quarantine, vaccinate and properly vet each puppy to ensure they are in tip-top health for the trip. Your donations help us provide these services for these sweet pups!
